Can you think of a better way to learn about Du Coeur than to ask those who know it best? That's why I prepared a list of questions and sent them to the team of girls and women who know this brand best. But it wasn't a thousand and one questions, don't worry! 11 of them were enough for me to get to know not only the daily routine of the store, but also what kind of biscuit they start the day with. Do you have a playlist that you play every day at work?
Veronika : We have our Du Coeur playlist, which we use to set the atmosphere in the store. It's such a pleasant R'n'B. We play, for example, Olivia Dean, Lianne La Havas or Cigarettes after Sex ✨
Which piece of jewelry sells the most and which surprised you with its popularity?
Kristýna : We collectively agreed that the Deux necklace is the best-selling one - maybe its symbolism plays a role, maybe its purity and simplicity. We were definitely surprised by the popularity of the limited edition Souvenir, which came out in different colors this year than last year. We expected it to be a success, but we didn't expect it to disappear so quickly :).
There are also a lot of foreigners who come to the store. Have you ever had to communicate with your hands and feet rather than your tongue?
Žanet : Usually English or my very weak Portuguese is enough. If that's not enough, it's just Google Translate and me against the world.
Do you have a Du Coeur morning ritual that you can't start your day without?
Rose : Of course. We're having our first round of coffee and goodies from the neighborhood Artic Bakehouse (the chocolate chip cookie is my personal favorite).
Let's be honest! Have you ever danced in a store?
Týna : ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! I can't imagine my life without dancing, so I can't even imagine my work.
Few people know this, but the store also includes an office and jewelry production. Does everyone really have a hand in the work?
Veronika : Yes, we really all get involved. When we were launching the new ZODIAC collection, I closed my laptop around five and spent a few hours creating necklaces.
A piece of jewelry that you really don't like making.
Žanet : Everyone in the team knows that making Algé is not for me. It's a tiny job that almost drives me crazy. But the result has its own charm and looks really beautiful!
And which one could you make over and over again?
Rose : Any piece of jewelry with baroque pearls - each pearl is unique and its own, so the process of selecting pearls for a new piece of jewelry is always unique in itself. And the production is all the more interesting!
Kristý, the team is all-female. Is that intentional, or have no men ever signed up?
Kristýna : I can't say that a purely women's team was the intention, nor that no man would ever apply, there just hasn't been a match yet, I guess we haven't found the right one for Du Coeur yet. But I have to say that we had a team photoshoot now and I'm proud of our women's team and I'm glad that we're having a good time here together.
What does your typical lunch look like – do you do it together or does everyone have their own?
Týna : As usual, you know, a hundred people, a hundred tastes, and in an all-female team, it's doubly true! But when someone orders lunch, they usually invite others too, and so sometimes we have lunch together and discuss the gossip of the last few days. 😀
If Du Coeur had to have its own “team talisman”, what piece of jewelry would it be?
Kristýna : Definitely the Camille collection - necklace or earrings. Specifically the Camille earrings, we all own them and I see them on girls most often.
