It can carry a much deeper meaning – becoming our personal talisman that accompanies us through life, reminds us of important moments or protects us. Since time immemorial, people have believed that certain objects can bring luck, courage, or harmony. Amulets and talismans have been a part of everyday life in ancient cultures – from ancient Egypt to Celtic tribes to Eastern traditions. Whether it was a stone, a symbol, or a piece of metal, it was always about the belief that the object had the ability to carry a certain energy.
Appearance comes second
A ring you brought back from your travels, a pendant given to you by a loved one, or earrings you wear every day – all of these can be talismans. It's not just about what they look like, but the story you have associated with the piece of jewelry.
For example, Natalie, who is our muse and now also takes care of our Instagram, describes her relationship with jewelry as follows:
“Without jewelry, I feel naked, so I wear it even when I run. I can wear an old T-shirt at the cottage, but I always need my Cinderella bracelet, ring or earrings. And for a marathon, it's a no-brainer.”
How to choose yours
Choosing your talisman is not about fashion trends, but about what you feel. Maybe you are intuitively drawn to a particular stone, symbol or shape that has a deeper meaning for you. "I love my Rouge Éclat ruby necklace that I got last year. I immediately felt that the dark color of the stones went well with my skin and eyes. On the other hand, at the beginning of the summer I received earrings from the Zodiac collection with moonstone for a photo shoot. I'm not a fan of earrings with stones, let alone with milky color, and I don't know much about stones, so I thought I'd just take a picture of them and return them. But, lo and behold, moonstone is my birthstone for Gemini, and I've been wearing these earrings almost all summer now and I love them. I even ran an ultramarathon in them," says Natalie.
Remember, it's not about what the rules say, but what the jewelry says to you. Talismans work precisely because their power is given to them by our own beliefs and emotions.
